Invitation for Umpires for the 30th Summer Universiade, Napoli, Italy

Deadline : 23rd January 2019 (Wednesday)

Dear Friends,

The International Table Tennis Federation, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Italian 2019 30th Summer Universiade and FISU, cordially invite National Associations to nominate one or two International Umpires (IU) for this prestigious event, which will take place in Napoli, Italy, 4 to 11 July 2019.

The hospitality starts with dinner on 2 July 2019 (arrival date) through to breakfast on 12 July 2019 (departure date). The Organizing Committee will provide economy class flight tickets for the selected umpires as well as the hospitality and per diem. Please note that by submitting a nomination, the Association confirms its responsibility to ensure the nominee has appropriate travel insurance. Should a nominated umpire require a visa, kindly send relevant details when submitting the nomination (full name as in passport, date of birth, place of birth, passport number, and expiry date of passport).

It is ITTF policy to encourage female participation whenever possible, so please encourage your female umpires seriously to consider applying for this prestigious assignment. Preference will be given to Blue Badge and Blue Badge in Progress Umpires. Umpires must wear the international umpiring uniforms as described in the Handbook for Match Officials. Evaluations for Blue Badge and Blue Badge in Progress Umpires will not be conducted.

Umpires need to arrive no later than 2 July 2019 and attend the Referee Orientation planned for 3 July.

Since this is an open invitation, unfortunately many umpires nominated may not be selected. The URC will confirm the selection by no later than 15 February 2019 and an announcement will be made on the ITTF website.

Please submit the nomination form and past overseas assignments form (attached) no later than Wednesday, 23rd January 2019 via email to ttammalaysia@gmail.com with copy to State TTA (State endorsement required), Mr. Lee Su Hau (a_lee438@yahoo.com) and Ms. Corrine Wong (corrinewcc@gmail.com). Late submissions will not be considered.

Thank you.
