Invitation for Umpires for WTT Youth Contender Linz

Dear Colleagues,


The Local Organiser Committee (LOC) of WTT Youth Contender Linz invites International Umpires to officiate at the forthcoming WTT Youth Contender in Linz, Austria.


The event will commence on 27th April 2022 and conclude on 03rd May 2022.


It is an open invitation, therefore not all submissions may be accepted.


Only online nominations submitted by bona fide National Associations will be considered; preference will be given to young umpires.


On 30th April 2022 ITTF URC in cooperation with LOC will offer Advanced Umpires Training (AUT) and Advanced Rules Exam (ARE) and during the event evaluations will in place. Candidates, who are interested in AUT and/or ARE have to inform -additionally to the online nomination- ITTF URC via email: urc@ittf.com.


Full hospitality will be provided from dinner on day before the event start to breakfast on day after the event end.


All invited umpires must organize their own transport to the region as well as travel and medical insurance. In addition, all invited umpires are responsible for early arrival and late departure. Local transport will be provided from and to Linz airport or railway station Linz.


Umpires are required to make their own arrangements for pre-departure COVID-19 test(s).


Only fully vaccinated umpires (EU approved vaccines: https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-travel-eu/coronavirus-response/safe-covid-19-vaccines-europeans_en#eus-vaccine-portfolio) are allowed to take part in the event.


Fully vaccinated Umpires with the Digital COVID Certificate are required to take a test within 72 hours prior to flight departure to Linz is required. Umpires shall send the Certificate to the Organiser.


The LOC will cover the cost of the Covid-19 tests and the limit of reimbursement per PCR test is 100 USD. In case a pre-departure Covid-19 test is needed prior departure from Linz, the cost will be covered by the LOC.


An umpire tested positive will be in isolation for 10 days. After day 5 and showing no symptoms on the last 3 days of isolation, by National Law, umpire will be released of isolation. The umpire is responsible for all the costs associated to the isolation. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.


Should a nominated umpire require a visa, kindly send relevant details when submitting the nomination (full name as in passport, date of birth, place of birth, passport number, expiry date of passport) to TTAM. A letter of invitation will be provided. Please note that all costs associated with the visa application are the responsibility of the applicant and the issuance of a visa is at the sole discretion of the relevant Consulate or Embassy.

Each umpire will receive WTT Youth Series Officiating Rates per competition day:

Blue Badge Umpires: 45 USD

White Badge Umpires: 40 USD
