Dear Friends,

The ATTU Technical and Umpires Committee, in cooperation with Table Tennis Federation of India and the Bahrain Asian Youth Games Organising Committee (BAYGOC) cordially invites Member Associations of ATTU to nominate International Umpires (IU) for the 28th Asian Championships to be held in Bhubaneswar, India and the 3rd Asian Youth Games to be held in Manama, Bahrain, respectively. The period of the Asian Championships is from 11th to 15th October while the period of the Asian Youth Games is from 26th to 30th October 2025. The exact dates of arrival of technical officials shall be confirmed later.

A total of twelve (12) overseas International Umpires will be invited for the Asian Championships and up to twenty-two (to be confirmed) overseas International Umpires for the Asian Youth Games.

Free hospitality and daily allowance shall be provided during the period. BAYGOC shall provide round trip economy class air passage for all invited umpires to Manama for the Asian Youth Games, but selected umpires for the Asian Championships must organize their transport to Bhubaneswar as well as travel and medical insurance.

Associations may nominate up to two (2) International Umpires each for the Asian Championships and Asian Youth Games. All nominated umpires should be on the list of active umpires published by ATTU. Among the two nominated umpires, at least one of the nominations should be an International Umpire who has achieved Gold Badge or Blue Badge status with the other nomination being International Umpires (White Badge) who have been active internationally for the past two years. For the Asian Youth Games, preference will be given to those umpires below the age of 40 years. During the selection process, preference will also be given to Gold Badge or Blue Badge umpires.

With agreement of the ITTF URC, certified evaluators will conduct field of play evaluations on eligible umpires working at the 2025 Asian Championships. An Advanced Umpire Training (AUT) Course and an online Advanced Rules Examination (ARE) will be held one day before the Championships on Friday 10th October 2025 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. White Badge Umpires selected for the event may take part in the AUT. For the AUT, all candidates must go through some self-study and two online sessions with the course conductor before being allowed to attend the on-site AUT in India. Those who pass the online ARE will enter the Blue Badge (BB) umpire program of URC. Arrival for those attending the AUT Course are expected to be on Thurs- day 9th October 2025. Candidates of the AUT/ARE or their Association will be responsible for the Course fees of USD 50 plus the additional night’s (Thursday 9th October) accommodation.
